Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American singer and actress whose dramatic versatility earned her praise across many styles from period dramas to thrillers and action. Johansson is born to an architect and producer, was born in New York City. Hunter was twin to her younger sister. When she was a child she discovered a love for acting. She began making commercial auditions around the age of seven. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and then attended the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. At age eight she appeared together with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry when she was nine. At that age, she made her first film appearance in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson later appeared on the screen in Just Cause (1995), but her first break occurred through Manny & Lo a coming of age drama about sisters running away.
