In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track at the time within the space of six months. It was a combination of reggaeton and pop music which not only brought attention to Latin Music but as well reggaeton. The Billboard Top 100 in 2015 had two songs mostly of Spanish language, while 2016 saw four. At the peak of Despacito's popularity in 2017 however 19 mostly Spanish songs made it into the top 100 In 2020, there were 41 such songs. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017 shortly after which the most well-known artists began collaborating with reggaeton acts. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018) as well as Madonna collaborated on Medellin with Maluma (2019). By 2020 a few reggaeton stars were complaining about their genre's shift towards the mainstream, but a new generation namely Rauw Alejandro, aimed to ensure that reggaeton was evolving. The genre often incorporated electronic dance, as well as other styles.
